Re: Cancer
Re: Cancer is a nonprofit based in Austin, TX that provides complimentary resources, evidence-based programs, and peer-to-peer support for the cancer diagnosed individual, their caregivers and the community. Through a carefully designed match program, trained volunteers who are cancer survivors are paired with individuals who have recently been diagnosed. Matches are based on a variety of criteria including cancer origin, treatment, age and gender. In addition to one-on-one support, our volunteers visit with patients in the oncology infusion rooms. Our goal is to offer important emotional support from the time of diagnosis through treatment and beyond if needed. Through various partnerships, Re: Cancer also offers programs and educational workshops which support and inform patients and their caregivers. Our organization is committed to recruiting volunteers who reflect the diversity of cancer care needed in the Central Texas community.
